Rental Requirements FAQs

Q. I am military and don’t have a Virginia driver’s license.  Can I still rent?

A.  Yes. If you have an active duty or retired military ID you qualify to rent.

Q.  I have established residency in Virginia, but I still have an out of state driver’s license.  Can I still rent?

A.  You will need to bring any local, state or federal government issued document in your name showing your local address.

Q.  I live with family and don’t have a lease or utility bill in my name.  What other documents can I bring as proof of residence?

A.  You can bring any local, state or federal government issued document in your name showing your local address.

Q. What are examples of local, state or federal government issued documents?

A.  Examples would include DMV documents, a letter from social services, a letter from your child’s school,  tax bills etc.  These documents must display your local address.

Q.   I am self-employed and don’t have a paystub.  How can I show proof of income? 

A. Bring your 1099 (Wage & Tax Statement) as proof of self-employment.

Q.  I only have liability insurance.  Can I use my insurance to cover the vehicle?

A.  No. Your insurance would have to be full coverage (liability & collision) in order to cover the rental.

Q.  I lost my driver’s license.  Will  you accept a photocopy of my license?

A.  No. You must bring in the actual license, not a copy.

Q.  My paystub is online, not an actual copy.  How can I send it to you?

A.  Before you check-out the vehicle, you will be provided with an email address for sending any documents that you will need to send electronically.

Q.  I no longer receive a paystub because I am retired.  What can I bring as proof of retirement?

A.  You can bring a statement of retirement income such as a letter of social security benefits or statement of pension.

Pricing FAQs

Q. Do you charge a fee for renter’s under 25 years of age?

A.  No. You must be 25 years or older to rent.

Q.  Is the deposit refundable?

A.  Your deposit will be refunded within 72 business hours after the vehicle is checked-in minus any tolls or damages that are noted at check-in.

Q.  Are there special rates the longer you rent or for the weekend?

A.  No. The rates listed are the daily rates, no matter how many days you rent or the day of the week you rent.

Q.  Is there a deposit required?

A. Yes. Your deposit is $150.00 if you have a current paystub or $250 without a current paystub.  The deposit stays on file until the vehicle is checked-in.

Q.  Can I pay with cash?

A.  No.  We don’t accept cash as payment.  You can pay either through Cash App, money order, debit or credit card.

Q.  Do I pay once I return my rental?

A.  No.  You must always pay in advance of the rental period.  Example, if you want to rent for 2 days, you must pay 2 day rental fees up front.  Extensions must paid in advance also.

Q.  Can another person pay for my rental?

A.  Yes. The person paying must present their ID if they are paying with a credit or debit card.
